DESCRIPTION:
NOTICE: This article should not be necessary as of ~2019 since DataSources are included in the “core” Repository.
Sometimes you want to monitor HP hardware directly without installing HPs software on Windows or Linux. If you have version 4 of iLo or newer, then you can do this. I combed thru the MIB files to get some good OIDs and created these datasources to monitor key metrics in the following categories:
iLO_fans
iLO_memory_modules
iLO_physical_drives
iLO_power_supply
iLO_storage_controller
iLO_temperature
INSTALLATION:
- Download the DataSource files and import them into your account ( Settings > DataSources > Add > From file )
- Add a SysOID map ( 1.3.6.1.4.1.232 –> HP_iLO ) to automate the setting of categories or manually add ‘HP_iLO’ to ‘system.categories’. This is used to ‘apply’ the datasources.
- Adjust the thresholds if needed
- Test by using the ‘Raw data’ tab and click ‘poll now’ or wait.
